We changed back after the hunt. I can change whenever I want, basically, but it takes energy.

[He nods again and stares for a long second before shaking his head slightly and taking a drink.]

The shit we have to deal with that I never thought we would..

For rubbin' in the fact that you've already graduated someone and I haven't? Yes. [He had to at least complain about it once. ]

For everythin' else - No. I still don't understand why Iris and Lark are more than Will and Neal and I but if this is the choice you're makin', then it's the choice you're makin'. [It didn't change the fact that he cared about Malcolm.]

I didn’t even really do anything for Neal; he basically graduated himself.

[He’s studying the floor intently, but his head snaps up at the next part.]

What do you mean ‘choice’? Why does this mean they’re ‘more’? Lark said I don’t have to give anyone up. Will came to the changing.

[Raylan looks at him steadily, eyes soft and pained as he wrestles with how honest he should be with the New Yorker.]

You chose this for connection. You've literally changed yourself for connection, Malcolm. You tell me.

I'll be here either way. It doesn't change anything.

It doesn’t nullify other connections. [His brow creases.] Unless the other side of the connection chooses that. [He was afraid Will might be repulsed by it, but was assured otherwise. He didn’t think it would bother Raylan. His stomach is sinking.] I’m not going anywhere either.

[Raylan shakes his head and sighs.]

No, it doesn't. And I'm not. [He just wasn't going to understand, but that was something he could live with.]

'Course. Winston too. I like Will. He came over the other day. Told me a bit about himself. I met Winston. Pumpkin didn't mind him.

[Raylan took a drink and stepped back to lean against the far counter.]

Just do me a favor and don't go stirrin' up any mobs to my door, huh?

I don’t stir up mobs. That doesn’t mean they’ll never happen.

Somethin' I'm well aware of. With everythin' with Lestat. [He wasn't going to point out that Lark was out there with some bloody ideas. Head of the would be mob.]

I was about eighty percent dead when people were planning murders. And I still talked Will out of it.

That's one person and one person a mob does not make. That was a lotta people trying to put out some very specific fires. I might not talk a lot on the network, but I do try to keep an eye on it.

But we have to think about worse case scenarios and be prepared for them.

I don't know, Malcolm. Anything. Everything. Neither of us have any real idea of how this works. You can't provide me any real assurances; you've been.. for a handful of days.

This isn't going to make some kind of extra trouble for me or you. When I asked about staying with you it was about feeling unsteady and wanting the emotional support, not some sort of physical protection, hiding behind you.
