I said Avalon and Avalon's Warden were more to blame. Not that Will is blameless. I said considering that Avalon tortured him and stabbed him before, he had no reason not to believe they'd do it again when they said they intended to. I said it was understandable, not that it was okay.
She doesn't listen to what I say. She assumes everything I say means something else and makes up what that something else is and when I told her that she could just.... assume what I mean is exactly what I say, she said the world doesn't work that way.
It sounds like you two need a mediator, to establish some lines of reality and understanding between each other. Without Will there. This isn't a personal issue between you two anymore, it's creeping into a professional one.

Will actually offered to translate. When it was just personal, we didn’t need a mediator. We needed someone who understands us both that we could both trust to facilitate communication. She was resistant for a while, but she just agreed a little before this happened.

I don't think she's got a time limit set. Imagine it depends on how Will is doing. As for you, she doesn't trust you and somehow, doesn't agree with the fact that helping Will and helping him graduate is in your interests as much as it is hers.
I do think that I've at least sown a few seeds for her to consider, including possibly letting me help. She's suspicious of me though, thinks I take everything you tell me as gospel like I don't have my own mind or objective opinions.
I did want that. I've tried for a long time. But she doesn't respect me and she doesn't think I'm... a functional human and she doesn't think I'm good for Will and I don't see how to have a functioning relationship with her starting from there.
Did or Do? Because I think you're right - a lotta work is on her side. But it'll be your choice if you show up to be witness to the first steps of that and up to her as to if she's willin' to change her perspectives.

If people think I’m incompetent and foolish, how am I supposed to work in counselling?
