I disagree. Just because he ain't my inmate, just because folks like Malcolm and Shaw aren't my Wardens, doesn't mean I should sit on the sidelines. [Not after the blood and death and heart-anguish that he'd been made to go through and shoulder alone.]
Much of Lestat's current behavior stems from a feeling of disconnection from those around him. I do not think he will find everyone he will talk to to be to his taste, nor even will he enjoy every discussion. But it is easy for him to put his victims out of his mind when they are in the past, people he killed and nothing more, and he can simply avoid those he does not care to associate with. Being faced with the humanity of those he chose to harm may not immediately stir his heart, but we often find the motes of ourselves in others when we least expect it. And in that similarity do we find concern.
Absolutely not. Mr. B- Malcolm's reference of 'counseling' is not my aim. Only socializing. If you wish to discuss men's fashion or your favorite sort of wine or what music you prefer, all entirely reasonable subjects.
[Oh thank god. Raylan still takes a few beats to think about it. He could be a petty asshole, except Lestat's murder of them had been nothing personal. There was no Malic in it, and that undercut any 'high road' towards the Rules of General Engagement.
Don't start nothing, won't be nothing, and that's what Raylan had been sticking to.]
So long as you're sure that small talk and the differences in our general Class isn't going to make him die of bordom.

Set a day and time I suppose, Dr. Reid. I'm sure I can find somethin' to get his back hair up that ain't my disinclination and ignorance to wine.

And I'll see when he isn't giving lessons.
Thank you. Truly.
