Malcolm's smile was utterly charmed and he set his head back down on Raylan's shoulder, snuggling back up against him, dopey, happy smile still on his face, fingers fidgeting at his sternum.
"Do you think you can sleep some more?"
He should sleep some more, if he could bear to. Malcolm would look after him this time. "You might wake up to breakfast," he added, to sweeten the deal. "Doc made grits when you were gone but the food is back so we can have eggs."
"Mmm," he rumbled, smile staying lazily broad as his thumb brushed back and forth over Malcolm's shoulder. "That kinda attention makes it hard to say no."
Typical man. Ready to roll over and go to sleep only to wake up and eat until he's sated again. He wasn't ignorant to the raw luxury that was for them here but that only made him want to soak in it more.
"Throw toast in there and I won't have a choice. Especially if you're gonna stay for a little longer."
"I love some toast." Just in case that was still a question.
The smile cheeked into a broader one as he rolled into Malcolm again, off arm coming around so that he could lean in and kiss him with a soft hum. "Then lets get up on the bed properly. Maybe up under a blanket or somethin' so we can snuggle in. Though, I warn you, let me get too far under, you might find it hard to slip away."
Malcolm laughed almost self-consciously, reaching for Raylan as he tucked up against him.
“Really?” A few weeks ago he would have never thought... well, anyone would say that, really. But especially Raylan. “Then you should do it some more,” he suggested.
"Mm, happily so," Raylan hummed, a chuckle behind the words as he bent in to do just that. It would take him a few more long seconds of that before he settled his head down onto the pillow and sighed a deep, rare sigh of contentment.

"I'm calming?"
Literally nobody had ever called him that before.
"Like.... you feel calmer now because of me?"
He sure never felt calm. He felt like he was full of bees all the time.

"You bein' here is right, somehow. I would be less calm without you here. If that makes sense."

He looked up at Raylan's face. "I can't leave yet. It's warm and you want me here."
And he was alive. And he was smiling.
"Plus the sun hasn't come up."

"Am I in danger of being pinned?" he asked suggestively. "Is 'oh no' the appropriate response? I'm not feeling that," he teased.
no subject
"Only if you ask nicely.. Or even if you don't. I do like kissin' you."
